Full Job Description
The Production Planner II performs production and material planning support for Manufacturing Operations. This individual develops the material support plans, reviewing material requirements for availability and ensuring that material orders are launched in a timely manner. The Production Planner II develops the production build plan and triggers release of production travelers into assembly according to schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and schedule the production build plan, releasing shop orders according to schedule; track and report its status through completion
- Evaluate raw material requirements to ensure availability, working closely with Buyers
- Coordinate with Quality the immediate needs of incoming and outgoing material
- Coordinate the incorporation of engineering changes into the production plan
- Work within given constraints of quality and flight authority requirements
- Organize, plan, and schedule based on order requirements accordingly to improve workflow and optimize for customer needs
- Plan for ECO requirements as it affects supply chain and be able to analyze impacts
- Work closely to with manufacturing to maintain a schedule that best supports customer demand; Interface with Procurement, Quality, Warehouse, and Manufacturing personnel on all material, shipping, and production status
- Process and track MRP exceptions on a daily basis
- Plan for demand changes daily and make decisions that best support the company
- Provide relevant information to senior staff to plan and schedule to constraints of bottlenecks along the supply chain; Understand the capacity and impacts for level loading
- Provide input on the creation of planning strategies based on part commodity codes, planning parameters and industry standards; Continuously update MRP and planning parameters to anticipate for demand changes
- Work with senior staff to simulate scenarios and impact planning based on changes to demand
- Adapt to reprioritizations and communicate effectively the impacts to the company from any decisions management flows down
- Track and report business unit level KPI’s
- Identify and analyze root cause corrective action needs and provide feedback on improvement opportunities
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
The starting pay range for this position is $22/hr to $30/hr however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, years of experience, job-related knowledge and location.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in a production or material planning role
- Working knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with MRP and ERP systems
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
