Full Job Description

The Tsui Group is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the implementation of project management software tailored for construction management. The ideal candidate will coordinate with internal teams, stakeholders, and software vendors to ensure seamless integration and deployment of the software. This role requires a deep understanding of construction project management, software implementation, and excellent communication skills.  

Position Description: 

  • Collaborate with Design and Construction teams, contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and facilities staff to integrate project management software processes into current workflows. 
  • Lead the planning, organization, direction, and review of project management software implementation activities. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison between members within the Planning Design, & Construction, Facilities Operations, Facilities Finance, IMSS departments and software vendors, resolving any software-related issues, discrepancies, and conflicts. 
  • Develop, assign, and monitor the performance of the software implementation process relative to ongoing construction projects managed by the Planning, Design, and Construction project managers. 
  • Oversee project progress to ensure alignment with submitted schedules, adjusting the implementation plan as needed. 
  • Review and assess change orders and impact on the PM Software and their baseline schedules. 
  • Review software specifications and assess integration capabilities with existing project schedules, cost control, and reporting systems. 
  • Verify the accuracy of data within the project management system, including financial database tools such as AiM or Oracle systems. 
  • Provide functional oversight in areas of planning, design, scheduling, cost control, risk management, contract administration, and quality control as managed throughout the implementation phase. 
  • Coordinate and schedule all pivotal activities with other organizational departments to ensure consistent use of the project management system including the necessary key stakeholder(s) throughout the Facilities department. 
  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures for optimal software usage within the PM Software and processes. 
  • Provide technical oversight to ensure effective software use amongst all user groups throughout Facilities and the Division(s). 
  • Prepare status reports and software performance updates for leadership in Facilities as needed. 
  • Plan and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and meetings to optimize the use of project management software. 
  • Analyze and organize software requirements; independently monitor software performance, ensuring alignment with project schedules and budgets. 
  • Provide technical support to Project Managers and Technical Team Members regarding the software. 
  • Manage timely and accurate responses to software-related requests for information. 
  • Oversee the maintenance and distribution of digital project documents, including plans, specifications, and record drawings within the software. 
  • Perform field checks and software audits to ensure compliance with job specifications, plans, and established standards. 
  • Prepare reports, guidelines, and correspondence related to software implementation, document control, and project management file maintenance. 
  • Coordinate software integration meetings with all necessary stakeholders, including representatives including but not limited to: Planning Design, & Construction, Facilities Operations, Facilities Finance, IMSS. 

Requirements

Minimum Required Experience: 

  • 10-15 years of experience in Project/Construction Management of New Buildings, Facilities or School Construction and familiarity with relevant Public Codes.
  • Required to have experience in managing capital projects through planning, design, jurisdictional approvals, environmental permitting, construction, and close-out.
  • 5-7 years of experience in school construction preferred. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions. 
  • Experience on large higher education and lab research programs. 
  • Experience with Oracle or similar PMIS systems. 

Additional Preferred Experience: 

  • Licensed professional, Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and/or Certified Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) 
  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) 
  • Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects 
  • Experience in Formal Construction Partnering and on-site QA/QC Supervision 
  • Experience in Progressive Design Build or Design Build delivery method 
  • Hazardous Materials Containment and Relocation 
  • Utilities Coordination for Relocation with City Agencies 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. 
  • Work experience in project planning and development. 
  • Ability to independently manage all aspects of a project. 
  • Ability to develop and control project scope. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain project budgets. 
  • Ability to develop and review project schedules. 
  • Skilled in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of construction documents. 
  • Ability to effectively facilitate project team and client meetings. 
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and prepare change orders. 
  • Ability to effectively monitor and coordinate construction activities with the various project stakeholders. 
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to project issues and challenges. 
  • Ability to set and manage project expectations. 

Required Degree 

BS or BA in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
