Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, located in Bakersfield, California, is an acute psychiatric and behavioral 90 bed facility situated on 8.8 acres.
We offer inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults needing mental/behavioral health, chemical dependency; and co-occurring disorders treatment through our medically supervised detoxification.

Job Summary

The Quality & Risk Coordinator will be under the direction of the Director of Process Improvement, Quality, and Risk Management (PI/Q/RM). The Coordinator will be responsible for the day to day activity of the Department, and will help facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (BBHH’s) overall performance improvement, quality and Risk Management Programs.
This includes but is not limited to the following:
1) Supporting the corporation’s performance improvement process.
2) Identifying performance trends.
3) Prioritizing, and recommendation for improvements.
4) Assist with data collection and analysis of quality improvement indicators, collaborating in performance improvement projects, and participating in the design, generation and analysis of reports for data collection related to facility's Quality Improvement Program.
5) Act as the Patient Representative for the organization with all assigned duties. The PI/Quality/RM Coordinator also plays a supportive role in ensuring compliance with all Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JC) standards, California Department Public Health (CDPH) and other Regulatory Agencies. The PI/Q/RM Coordinator (as needed) will investigate specific areas of concern as identified by the BBHH’s leadership. Position will oversee quality/compliance as assigned and will perform Hospital Rounding and other job-related duties as assigned.

Though we do need to meet some minimum requirements for the position such as a High School Diploma or GED, we're really looking for people who bring their HEART to work.
Preferably, you'll come with an Associate Degree in a healthcare-related field and/or bring a couple of years of experience in Risk Management, Process Improvement, or Quality Control.
If you have previous experience in a mental healthcare hospital environment where your attention was focused on the quality, risk management, or process improvement in the facility your application to this position will be immediately moved to the shortlist of candidates.

You should have a current CPR certification when you apply or obtain certification prior to your start date.
If you don't have a current CPR certification, just let us know and we'll make sure you get it before you start -- and even cover the cost for you.
Additionally, you'll complete a "Handle-With-Care" Physical Restraint Technique Training during your orientation so that you know how and when to engage when such an event occurs.

The Quality & Risk Coordinator position pays between $23.00 to $33.00 per hour based on the experience you bring with you.
