Full Job Description
Stemson Therapeutics Corp is a dynamic startup company dedicated to revolutionizing hair growth solutions through innovative research and development using a patient's own iPSC. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate - Histology to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting our research efforts by performing histology procedures and conducting histologic characterization of iPSC-derived cells and newly formed hair follicles in vivo.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine histology procedures, including grossing, processing, embedding (both Paraffin and frozen), sectioning, and staining.
- Conduct manual immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays to detect specific protein markers in tissue samples.
- Operate and maintain histology equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, embedding center, and automated H&E stainer.
- Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
- Assist in the development and optimization of new histology techniques and protocols, ensuring high-quality results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects and achieve project milestones.
- Monitor the inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents used in the histology laboratory, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely procurement.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Histotechnology), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years of laboratory experience, with recent experience in routine and special histopathological techniques.
- Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, and histology principles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Comfortable and able to navigate new technology as the laboratory upgrades equipment.
- Experience using light and epifluorescence microscopes.
- Good color discrimination to verify diagnostic quality of staining processes.
- Histotechnician (HT)/Histotechnologist (HTL) certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
