Job Summary
The Sales Engineer reports to the Sales Engineering Manager and is a key player in guiding resellers through remote and on-site deployment and troubleshooting processes. This role involves collaborating with resellers on controller configurations, card reader setups, and troubleshooting. The Sales Engineer also partners with the Professional Services team, offers post-sale technical support, acts as a liaison to field installation teams, conducts hardware training sessions, and aids during site visits. Responsibilities include maintaining training environments, working with the Quality Assurance team on testing, and showcasing expertise in virtualization technologies.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide expert advice to resellers on deploying and troubleshooting installations, both remotely and on-site, encompassing controller configurations, card reader setups, input/output configurations, and credential support.
- Collaborate with Professional Services (IGS) for deployments and troubleshooting activities, ensuring seamless integration of products.
- Offer post-sale tier 1 and some tier 2 technical support, addressing customer queries and issues promptly and effectively.
- Act as a liaison between field installation teams and resellers, capturing valuable information regarding needs, challenges, and brand reputation.
- Conduct one or two-day refresher hardware training sessions for field installation teams to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Assist sales managers, account managers, and sales engineers during site visits by identifying customer needs or gaps, contributing to business growth opportunities.
- Manage and maintain the training and lab environments at the Arlington, VA Identiv office.
- Work closely with the QA team to facilitate testing procedures and ensure product quality.
- Utilize experience with virtualization technology, including VM Ware or Microsoft Virtual Server, as a valuable asset in day-to-day tasks.
- Demonstrate superior problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, addressing technical challenges with efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments, working both independently and as part of a team.
- Offer service and customer support during field visits or engagements, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Manage on-site installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and task support to meet customer requirements.

Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of specific expertise in Hirsch systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of extensive field experience in a software or technology environment, specializing in applications engineering, systems analysis, or database administration.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Physical Access Control, Video, and Intrusion Detection Systems, along with related hardware/devices.
- Showcase applied experience in collaborating with Local, State, and Federal Government agencies, providing solutions and expertise in policies and processes related to physical access control systems.
- Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of Windows Server versions 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019, as well as Windows 7 and Windows 10.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively balance and prioritize multiple, competing priorities, meticulously tracking documentation and deliverables in an organized manner.
- Display a proven aptitude for delivering exceptional customer service, particularly in politically charged environments.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, with a proactive approach to following up on items to ensure prompt resolution and closure of problems.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent relational database systems, considered a valuable asset.
- Additional expertise in PKI and Smartcard technologies is advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience in the Federal/Government or Department of Defense (DoD) security industry are considered strong assets.

At Identiv, we prioritize pay fairness. Your base salary plays a vital role in our comprehensive compensation structure, and it is established within a specific range. This structure allows for advancement as you gain experience and evolve in your role. Your salary and compensation will be determined based on various factors, including your geographical location, skill set, educational background, and work experience.
In the spirit of openness regarding compensation, the base range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000 with a variable commission range of $20,000 to $30,000.
