We are looking for an avid individual with skills to perform specialized and detailed tasks in support of aviation security and public safety programs and emergency response, who responds and coordinates security events and ensures consistency of operational practices with regulations, standards, mandates, and organizational requirements. Not limited to the following, the ideal candidate:
1. Coordinates daily security and public safety operational requirements to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements; coordination of airport security and employee security matters, security-controlled area access, and other operational area access requirements, programs, directives, regulations, laws, mandates, and practices;
2. Conducts facility inspections to include access control systems, barriers, perimeter fences, and regulatory signage; conducts investigations and analysis of security breaches; facilitates security operations for construction projects, special events, and contingencies for compliance with requirements; recommends corrective actions; completes reports, and conducts follow-up evaluations; cites for violations and recommends remedial actions;
3. Coordinates security and emergency exercises; responds to issues involving exercises, emergency and disaster preparedness, crisis situations and disasters, security breaches and alarm activations, accidents, evacuations, power outages, crowd control, internal and external threats, medical emergencies, and irregular operations;
4. Interprets regulations, mandates, programs, and initiatives and serves as a subject matter expert and resource on the area of assignments; conducts security and safety assessments, tests, and outreach activities; represents and completes learning sessions and presentations on security and safety programs to groups, committees, and other initiatives;
5. Advances partnerships and interacts with internal and external stakeholders; collaboratively determines the course of action to realize resolutions; interfaces with and serves as a liaison to government agencies, including tenants, fire prevention/management, and law enforcement representatives;
6. Communicates operational advisories, resolves issues, and facilitates decision-making; advances program implementation and acceptance; monitors and coordinates contractual activities. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Associate Degree in aviation management, public administration, security management, or a closely related field;
· Two years of increasingly responsible operational support experience involving emergencies and/or security response situations;
· Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements:
· Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background investigation, training, and testing required for employment and operation of Authority and San Diego County physical security, surveillance, radio, and telecommunications equipment.
· Maintain a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority’s vehicle insurance policy.

The hiring salary is $62,214 per year.
The salary range is $53,175 - $85,080.
