Full Job Description
- The Segment Survey Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of construction surveys for both temporary and permanent work elements. With over 5 years of heavy construction surveying experience, this professional promotes and enforces compliance with safety program requirements, documenting and implementing corrective measures when necessary. Proficient in utilizing tools such as Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office, the Segment Survey Manager is adept at producing 3D structural models, field construction packets, surfaces, and profiles.
- Know and understand all aspects of the project specifications pertaining to project survey.
- Attend daily/weekly scheduling meetings with the project disciplines and coordinate survey activities.
- Ability to utilize Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Produce 3D structural modeling and field construction packets for construction and as-built surveys.
- Produce 3D surfaces and profiles as well as manipulate point data.
- Create Operational models for Machine Control and Site Positioning.
- Prepare work plans and stakeout packages for construction survey field crews.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control checks to validate daily survey tasks.
- Provide direction and supervision to survey technician(s) to ensure quality of work product, in accordance with project specification and survey standards.
- Directs field crews on daily tasks, including working with field crews to ensure compliance with project accuracy standards and time management.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Project Survey Manager.
Requirements
- 8+ years heavy construction surveying experience.
- CST or LSIT certification is a plus.
- A College degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3d, MicroStation, and Trimble Business Center, including file conversions.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and materials for civil/structural work standards and practices.
- 3D modeling.
- Trimble site positioning equipment for both GPS and robotic total stations.
