Hello Sunshine is seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate is an energized, organized and solutions-oriented individual with an enthusiasm to join a fast-paced, high growth and execution-oriented organization. This position will report to Hello Sunshine's Assistant Controller.
What You Will Do
- Provide support in managing the day-to-day general ledger activities, including the preparation of month-end journal entries, regular GL account reviews and account reconciliations
- Assist in the revenue accounting operations, including onboarding new customers, invoice processing, proper posting of revenue, and maintaining deferred revenue schedules
- Perform customer contract review to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with ASC 606
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain customer files and records and stay informed of upcoming revenue projects
- Manage customer AR and collections activities with a strong understanding of established collection procedures and timelines.
- Prepare entries and code expenditures to proper cost centers, projects, and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the Company's established accounting principles and that all documentation and records of transactions are kept.
- Assist in determining appropriate sales tax treatment and manage state sales tax filings
- Assist with the preparation of documents for the annual financial statement audit
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline the accounting close process, improve efficiency, and enhance controls
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and internal control procedures
- Ad-hoc tasks & project work pertaining to other finance areas as it relates to other business segments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required
- 3-5+ years of financial accounting experience, CPA preferred
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, experience in NetSuite is a plus
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Strong attention to detail and well developed organization and time management skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ideal candidate is a highly self-motivated person who thrives in a dynamic work environment and demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style that responds quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines
- Strong Excel skills required. General experience in Office (Word, Power Point, etc)
