About the Role
This is a position within the DevOps team working under the guidance of the DevOps Manager. The Senior Database Administrator must be a detail and process oriented, independent, self-motivated individual with AWS environments and services such as RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB and more.
Responsibilities
- Maintain databases for all relevant environments in all regions to support development, QA and 24x7 production business-critical information systems
- Continually implement improvements to database performance, efficiency and security
- Implement fault-tolerant, high availability database architecture with cross-region replication and failover capabilities
- Collaborate with operations, engineering and software development teams on database query optimization and the implementation of database management best practices
- Evaluate, test and deploy database changes and code to enable new system deployments, features and improvements
- Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation schedule to respond to escalated issues that impact production systems
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in RDS / MySQL database operation and management
- Expert knowledge of database management best-practices, including performance tuning, backup/restore, real-time replication, disaster recovery and security
- Results-driven self-starter who strives for excellence
- Confident team player with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
- Must possess an engineering mind-set - document and design first, and then implement
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer science discipline or equivalent experience
- Keeper is FedRAMP authorized, therefore, all applicants must be a “U.S. Person”
