Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced and talented Senior Laboratory Architect to join our client's team in San Francisco, CA. As a leading recruitment firm, we are dedicated to finding the best candidates for our clients, and in this role, the Senior Laboratory Architect to play a key role in our Northwest Region offices, making a significant impact on a regional scale.
We're in search of someone experienced in pre-design, programming, and laboratory planning, particularly in specialized architectural environments. As a subject matter expert in large lab projects, including research and clinical labs, vivaria, and similar technical lab types, you'll bring invaluable insights to the table. Your strong client relationship skills and a track record of innovative design solutions, showcased through built work, will be crucial as you collaborate with teams both locally and across the broader network.
- Collaborate directly with clients, scientists, researchers, and users to plan laboratories for new construction and renovations.
- Offer innovative and sustainable design solutions that align with project objectives, pushing boundaries in lab design, especially in private industry.
- Provide technical expertise in academic, clinical, forensic, government, public health, and R&D sectors.
- Oversee lab documentation and quality control reviews, ensuring plans meet project requirements.
- Manage day-to-day operations of lab projects from inception to completion.
- Contribute to the development materials and assist in talent recruitment.
- Lead client, contractor, agency, and consultant relationships. Supervise mid to large project teams and mentor junior staff.
Requirements
- Licensed architect with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture and a minimum of 10 years of architectural or related experience
- LEED accreditation preferred, with a commitment to sustainable design principles demonstrated through a portfolio of work
- Proficiency in Revit preferred
- Deep understanding of laboratory programming delivery and its impact on various systems, including space, operations, equipment programming, MEP systems, and casework
- Experience collaborating with senior management, scientists, laboratory managers, technicians, and other stakeholders to determine programmatic requirements
- Technical expertise in laboratory (including vivarium) room development, including equipment and technical attributes
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage client expectations, multidisciplinary teams, and project scope, schedule, and budget
- Advanced knowledge of architectural planning, design processes, construction documentation, administration, and code requirements
- Excellent presentation skills for articulating ideas in interviews and presentations
- Ability to develop and motivate teams internally and externally, with a passion for mentoring team members

- $125,000 - $160,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
