Position Summary
As Technical Business Analyst for Clinical IT at Ascendis Pharma, your role will be to enable our global Clinical organization with technology. The Clinical organization is currently embarking on several digitalization initiatives spanning from enhancing the application for better use to standing up new applications to support the business.
In this role, you will dive deep into the business needs for each initiative and ensure that these are understood and configured by our technology vendors. You will facilitate business decision-making by clearly illustrating the different technological options and which trade-offs are made in each case. You will map business processes and data flows to ensure business needs are met. And you will be the go-to person for deep knowledge about the solutions you help bring to life.
Act as a support analyst resolving users’ issues, maintain system and provide solutions after the root cause analysis. In this role you will also be go to person for all the technical questions and software application issues.
You will join the Ascendis Pharma Global IT, Continuous Delivery organization, consisting of product teams delivering to business value streams. You will join the Clinical IT product team, where you will work closely together with the Product Owner, Product Coach and other team members. Our product teams are self-managing and follow an agile delivery model.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical business analyst and Support Analyst for new solutions being defined and implemented in the Clinical space, such as Statistical Computing platforms for Clinical, Reporting Tools, eTMF, EDC, CTMS and IRT. [SM1]
- For these solutions, map the business process to ensure technology fit, collect user stories, understand the data structure and data flows, ensure configuration of solutions fits with the business needs, document solution design and ensure it is tested.
- Participate in development of applications and bringing new solutions to life by taking on tasks from the current sprint backlog together with the rest of the team
- Work with our business stakeholders in both US and Europe
- Lead discovery and decision-making meetings and workshops to arrive at the best possible technical solution with business stakeholders.
- Work effectively with software partners, vendors, and service providers to ensure we deliver value to our business users.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues by troubleshooting and finding out root causes.
- With the rest of your team, you will perform daily monitoring of application in production, mange Service now ticketing queue for timely resolution and work with cross functional teams to help Clinical stake holders.
- Own complex issues and work with business stakeholders and vendors providing the solution.
- Work with QA, data privacy and compliance teams to ensure systems are compliant and secure, adhering to processes/procedures in place.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in related roles (including a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated technical business analysis skills) in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment.
- Understanding of Clinical IT space in life sciences.
- Experience with business process mapping, data migration and system configuration.
- You have been working in an agile team, relentlessly improving your working practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Implement, administer and support clinical systems with minimum guidance.
- Travel requirements: 10% - 20%
- Salary range: $135-150K/year
