POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Project Engineer position will be responsible for supporting all aspects of a large construction project with a focus on creating and managing project schedules, including proactively identifying and escalating delays. This position will play a key role in ensuring the project’s success. As a Sr. Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside best-in-industry project managers and field leaders.
LOCATION: Rancho Dominguez, CA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Project Manager in planning work schedule, determine manpower levels, and arranging for assignment of project personnel.
- Prepare special reports, studies, and statistical analyses per Project Manager request. Such items would usually require research, development and/or interpretation of data and be performed with little supervision or instruction.
- Main logs (RFI, CO, Submittals, etc.), write RFIs and create submittal packages.
- Package materials matrix in coordination with Field Supervision and Project Manager.
- Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules of plan as required.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts, schedule of values, client billings, and monitor subcontractors’ billings and payment. Review monthly with Project Manager.
- Prepare project reports for management review monthly or each quarter.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- 5 years’ experience in a Project Engineer or similar position with a construction firm, preferred mechanical contractor.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Prolonged periods of site walks, ladder climbing etc
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
