About the Job:

The Finance & Risk Management Department is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Management Analyst. This pivotal role will evaluate and analyze risk exposures, providing expert risk management advice to establish insurance requirements for purchase orders, equipment purchases, contracts, and leases. Additionally, this role will manage insurance negotiations, coordinate timely renewal of insurance programs, and oversee claims management activities, including recovery of costs for damage to Authority property.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to develop a broad, generalist knowledge of various risk management areas, allowing for a diverse and comprehensive understanding of the field. This position offers a unique blend of responsibilities, from working with legal counsel on claims and litigation to participating in emergency response and disaster recovery planning, making it a dynamic and integral part of the organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct Risk Analysis: Provide risk management expertise to establish insurance requirements for purchase orders, equipment purchases, contracts, and leases; analyze and classify risks and loss exposures to recommend appropriate risk management techniques.
• Evaluate Loss Exposure: Assess the probability and severity of potential and actual losses; assist in implementing loss control programs and manage compliance with Authority insurance requirements.
• Review Insurance Coverage: Evaluate and recommend appropriate lines of insurance coverage, limits, and self-insured retention levels; collaborate with legal counsel on claims and litigation preparation; develop cost projections and perform cost-benefit analyses of alternative insurance programs.
• Support Insurance Negotiations: Assist in broker and carrier negotiations; analyze underwriting data for insurance program renewals; coordinate timely insurance renewals and prepare statistical analysis reports.
• Manage Claims Recovery: Oversee recovery of costs for damage to Authority property; coordinate and monitor claims management activities; supervise the administration of insured claims, including site visits and investigations with insurance adjusters.
• Participate in Emergency Planning: Collaborate with emergency response team by engaging in emergency response and disaster recovery planning, documentation, exercises, and communication; manage interactions with insurers to facilitate claims administration and maintain relationships with underwriters.

Requirements

The Experience You Need to Have***:

• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in the risk management function with a successful track record of progressively responsible projects, assignments or positions or a closely related field and/or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in insurance, finance, accounting, risk management, or a closely related field;

Preferred Education, Certification, and Licenses:

• Certified in an Associate Risk Management (ARM) , Certified Risk Management (CRM), Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional (CWCP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP) designations.
• An advanced degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or a Juris Doctor (JD).
• Possession of a valid insurance agent or broker license, demonstrating expertise in managing and facilitating insurance transactions.
