Authorium is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to take charge of maintaining and enhancing our legacy Ruby on Rails application. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our existing application while we are building the next iteration of our platform. A significant piece of the work will surround facilitating the incremental migration of existing customers from this legacy app to our new platform. You will be responsible for bug fixing, feature development, and optimizing the current system to support a smooth transition.
How you'll make an impact:
- Maintain and enhance the legacy Ruby on Rails application, ensuring its stability and performance.
- Rapidly iterate in a fast-paced environment with a highly transparent working process that is inclusive of stakeholders and collaborators.
- Collaborate with product and customer support to troubleshoot and resolve bugs promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to customers.
- Balance new feature development with user needs during the transition period.
- Collaborate with the team to strategize and implement an efficient user migration plan.
- Help the team identify how to synthesize features from the legacy app into the new app
Requirements
What makes you qualified for this role:
- 5+ years experience working with Ruby on Rails
- Experience with SQL schema design patterns and ActiveRecord
- Experience with data migration patterns and approaches
- Skilled with frontend development using JavaScript
- Interest and capability to be self-driven in onboarding onto complex legacy codebase
- Self-starter and exploratory developer
- Comfort with ambiguity and adaptable to pivots in a fast paced environment.
- Bonus points for
- End-to-end testing experience with Playwright and Cucumber
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS
- Experience with additional languages including Python, Node.js
- Familiarity with CKEditor or other HTML-based editor frameworks/libraries
- Experience with security compliance

- Collaborative and service-driven approach to working with teammates
- User experience-focused approach to problem solving and engineering
- Experience with service design and software architecture
- Experience in working with and mentoring more junior engineers, with a focus on nurturing and developing our software engineering culture.
- Demonstrated capability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related field

This position offers a competitive salary of $165K-$200K per year, flexible PTO, and participation in a 401K Profit Share plan.
