Full Job Description
Halo Industries has invented a technology to replace a decades-old semiconductor material slicing process that wastes billions of dollars annually.
Halo’s laser-based technology eliminates this waste, delivering improvements in both material cost and performance, while enabling manufacturing advancements in a diverse set of high-growth applications markets, including the automotive, grid infrastructure, telecommunications, and power electronics sectors.
Halo originally spun out of Stanford University in 2014, acquiring a significant A round of VC funding in 2020 following the successful demonstration of the company’s precision material slicing equipment.
Halo is currently defining the foundation for its planned volume manufacturing operations, building a passionate team to meet its next milestone of deploying the company’s first fully integrated production line.
Halo Industries is well-funded, engaged with strategic customers, and staged to achieve rapid operational, revenue, and valuation growth.

Halo Industries is seeking a senior staff level Electrical Engineer to contribute to the architect, build, test, and certification for Halo’s proprietary material processing equipment. This person will be detail-oriented with the ability to think critically to diagnose issues and optimize complex processes, identifying new engineering needs as they arise. The candidate will work in a small team to bring new products from concept to production release.
Near-term deliverables include:
- Contribute to the delivery of the control systems and power distribution for Halo’s next-generation manufacturing line integrating advanced automation along with meeting current electrical and safety requirements needed for industrial machines.
- Design, fabricate, debug, and test prototype electronic boards and assemblies. Integrate the same into prototype industrial equipment.
- Design, fabricate, debug, and test production electronic boards and assemblies. Integrate the same into production industrial equipment. Train and transfer knowledge and skills to production engineers and technicians.
- Document all of the above, including schematics, fab and assembly and wiring drawings, BOMs, etc. CAD design of electrical and electronic systems including schematic capture and board layout tool sets. Examples include Altium, Cadence, Mentor, etc.
- Familiarity with applicable compliance and safety standards, including those from NFPA, SEMI, FCC, and other applicable regulatory and industrial automation requirements.
Core responsibilities include:
- Define the automation and controls concepts implementing proprietary and off-the-shelf manufacturing equipment, partnering with Halo’s product development and manufacturing technology teams.
- Define and implement systems and circuits for complex automation and laser-based, material processing platforms for Halo’s manufacturing lines. Integrate with industry related safety and compliance certification associated with the release of the processing equipment.
