Full Job Description
Law firm based in Irvine is currently seeking an experienced Sr Paralegal to join their growing legal team. As a Sr Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting our legal department and ensuring the smooth operation of our legal processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in legal support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analyze relevant legal documents and materials
- Prepare legal documents, including briefs, contracts, and pleadings, and ensure their accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings
- Manage and maintain legal documentation and files, both in physical and electronic form
- Coordinate with external parties, such as clients, opposing counsel, and vendors, to gather and exchange information
- Assist in the negotiation and drafting of legal agreements and contracts
- Provide support in preparing and reviewing corporate governance documents and compliance matters
- Conduct due diligence and assist in the preparation of transaction documents for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions
- Keep up-to-date on changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends that may affect the company and its clients
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance and provide advice on legal matters
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or a related field; additional certifications are a plus
- At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department
- In-depth knowledge of legal terminology, principles, and practices
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and apply relevant legal precedents
- Proficient in using legal research tools and databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong ethical standards and ability to handle confidential information responsibly
