Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Logistics Manager is a vital role within the Supply Chain Department, overseeing the import of international shipments and managing domestic logistics to ensure timely delivery to their final destinations. This role involves logistics planning, identifying warehouses nationwide, and discovering efficient delivery routes within the US. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in logistics, international and domestic shipping, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to ensure operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Freight Coordination: Collaborate with freight forwarders to ensure timely pick-up and shipping of all shipments.
- Customs Management: Work with customs brokers to resolve any issues related to clearing customs for shipments.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about and ensure compliance with FDA regulations for importing into the US.
- Issue Resolution: Respond urgently to any shipment issues to minimize delays.
- Supply Chain Collaboration: Coordinate international shipments with the overseas Supply Chain team.
- Domestic Logistics: Arrange trucks for pick-up and domestic deliveries within the US.
- Warehouse Operations: Understand and manage warehouse receiving and fulfillment processes.
- Route Planning: Plan efficient delivery routes for domestic shipments.
- Warehouse Sourcing: Identify and establish relationships with new warehouses.
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor all shipments and report their statuses regularly.
- Import/Export Management: Understand the processes and requirements for importing goods into the US and exporting goods out of the US.
- International Importing: Comprehend the requirements for importing goods, including food items, into other countries.
- Paperwork Handling: Manage all shipment paperwork, including documentation for shipping goods and clearing customs.
Invoice Ingredients & Accessories
- Billing Coordination: Work closely with the accounting department to address invoice-related questions for international shipping from port arrival to domestic logistics. This requires a solid understanding of billing processes and effective communication with freight forwarders and internal accounting teams to resolve discrepancies.
Ingredients and Ordering Optimization
- PO Collaboration: Collaborate with the Supply Chain Team on issuing purchase orders (POs) for ingredients and accessories, arranging freight pick-ups, and delivery into the warehouse.
- Process Improvement: Streamline and enhance logistics and order processes to increase efficiency and achieve cost savings.
Comprehensive Reporting on Inventory, Orders, and Logistics
- Detailed Reporting: Provide regular, detailed reports on the status of shipments and logistics efficiency, offering critical insights for strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Ensure accurate tracking and management of shipments to meet operational needs.
- Logistics and Supply Chain Optimization: Work with suppliers and internal teams to improve third-party logistics and supply chain processes for increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, evaluate performance, and address issues to ensure quality and reliability.
- Invoice Matching and Accounting Assistance: Collaborate with the accounting department to match invoices with delivery receipts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial records.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive logistics records and provide regular reports to management on warehouse and logistics efficiency.
- Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Monitor the quality of incoming goods and coordinate with suppliers to address any quality issues.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, with a focus on international and domestic shipping.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of logistics, freight forwarding, and customs processes.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software, Google Sheets, & Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams, suppliers, and freight forwarders.
- Ability to react quickly and decisively in urgent situations.
- Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations and compliance requirements for importing goods into the US.
- Familiarity with international shipping documentation and procedures.
- Attributes:
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide strategic insights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) are a plus.
Salary Range:
- The base salary range is $110,000 - $130,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your experiences. This position will be eligible for a bonus and stock options.
