As the VP of Engineering, your mission is to collaborate with our CTO in building and leading a high-performing engineering team. Your focus will be on developing, recruiting, and empowering exceptional software engineers to deliver their best work.
Requirements
Profile & Experience
- Extensive experience as a generalist backend engineer with no specific technology specialization required.
- Over 5 years of leadership experience in engineering roles such as CTO, VP, or tech lead, demonstrating both hands-on technical expertise and managerial skills.
- Ability to translate business context, including financial goals, into strategic and tactical engineering initiatives.
- Familiarity with enterprise collaborations and customer relationship management approaches in an engineering context.
- Proficiency in leading recruitment initiatives, conducting technical interviews, and assessing cultural fit.
- A senior mindset focused on scoping work appropriately, team development, and maximizing individual and team effectiveness.
Real Things You’ll Do
Here are some tangible examples of the work you'll be responsible for:
- Revamp the RAG Pipeline:
- Own the end-to-end project of incorporating a knowledge base into the RAG Pipeline.
- Implement solutions to run document retrieval accurately and with minimal impact on conversation latency.
- Establish self-hosted vector DB infrastructure to optimize network latency.
- Efficiently compute state-of-the-art embeddings at scale, potentially by hosting open-source models.
- Collaborate with flagship enterprise customers to optimize the performance of conversational AI deployments.
- Conduct testing and optimization in consultation with technical and commercial stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Contribute to defining the company's approach to remote work, balancing the benefits of colocation with the flexibility of remote work.
- Play a key role in shaping discussions around remote work policies and practices, considering the productivity and talent distribution aspects.
