About the Role

We are looking for a ALMM Shop Lead Technician to join us on our journey to facilitate getting contractors the PPE needed. We are a culture-first organization that works relentlessly.
As a Shop Lead Technician here at Vorto, you will play a key role in managing our workshop operations and leading a team of technicians in providing maintenance and services for a diverse range of equipment within the transportation sector. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring efficient shop operations and delivering high-quality service across different transportation lanes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee daily shop activities, including task assignment, resource management, and workflow coordination for technicians servicing equipment in various transportation lanes.
· Supervise the inspection, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of transportation equipment, prioritizing safety and service quality.
· Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, collaborating with procurement teams to maintain optimal stock levels for servicing different transportation lanes.
· Provide training and guidance to technicians to enhance their skills, address technical challenges, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize shop operations, address customer requirements, and drive efficiency in servicing diverse transportation lanes.
· Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
· Preferred a bachelor's degree in business administration, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
· Extensive experience in trailer repair/maintenance, diesel mechanics, automotive service, or a relevant industry.
Extensive experience in equipment maintenance within the transportation sector, with a proven track record in a leadership or supervisory role.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and resources to meet the demands of servicing multiple transportation lanes.
· Excellent communication and team leadership skills to motivate technicians, foster collaboration, and drive shop performance.
· Problem-solving capabilities and technical expertise to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and implement effective solutions across various transportation lanes.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation to ensure service quality and adherence to compliance standards.
· Relevant certifications or training in equipment maintenance, shop management, or related fields within the transportation industry.
· Proven track record of successful leadership and management in a similar capacity.
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate teams.
· Analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and drive performance improvements.
· Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Compensation: $45-50/hr
