About Auror
At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to tackle theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 Billion problem globally. It’s high volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.
Founded in New Zealand 11 years ago, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
Auror is connecting people and intelligence to reduce crime. We’re using technology for good.
In partnership with our leading retail partners, we need people with the passion, determination, and innovation required to overcome one of the world's largest problems. If you’re looking to make a difference with and for the people dedicated to stopping crime, for good, then we want you on our team.
The Role
The role of Director of Technical Partnerships at Auror lives at the intersection of our customers, other solution providers (partners), our customer facing team, and our product team. It's a role that leverages deep technical competence, strategic planning, and customer obsession to support the business in delivering the full value of the Auror platform through technical enablement and partnerships. This role has has three primary areas of ownership:
- Connected Ecosystem - you will have responsibility for building out strategy for our Connected Ecosystem delivery in partnership with customer leads. You will also manage the relationship with the many solution providers that will integrate with Auror’s Crime Intelligence Platform, forming strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Technical integrations - you will lead a global team responsible for managing technical integrations between customers, other solution providers, and the Auror platform.
- Licence plate recognition - as we scale our LPR offering around the world there’s a need to have technical capability in-market to partner with customers, integrators, and suppliers. You’ll build out the team responsible for the successful scoping and deployment of LPR at customer locations, partnering with Auror’s commercial, customer success, and product engineering teams to deliver end-to-end projects.
While a major focus for this role is leading technical enablement teams and growing those functions across the markets we operate in, you’ll also be able to get hands on with the tools and work alongside your teams to achieve epic results for our customers.
This role reports to James Corbett, VP Technology and Innovation
As a technical founder at Auror my role has evolved over time, initially leading the development of Auror’s crime intelligence platform, my focus now is on enabling Auror’s long term growth through product innovation and partnerships. The other focus I have is building out the technical support structures that will allow Auror to scale as we take on the global crime problem. I love what we are about here at Auror, and it makes me proud to be part of a high performing team that is building a platform that helps keep our communities safe. I love seeing those around doing amazing work and I'm always ready to roll up my sleeve to help people meet their potential. Outside of Auror you will find me wandering around the zoo with my preschooler and toddler, and when it’s warmer, at the beach building giant sand castles.
Requirements
About you
To excel in this role you will have a strong technical background, likely having come through an engineering pathway before applying those skills in more external facing roles. You love diving deep into technical challenges, using all available data and tools to understand what’s happening under the hood, and figuring out a path forward. Equally, you can create strategies aligned to company and team priorities that take into consideration both commercial and technical view points. You are in your element talking to customers and partners and can communicate clearly and effectively with both very technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You will have a passion for working closely with customers and be energised when directly engaging with our customers’ technical, loss prevention, and commercial teams.

- Equally, you love supporting those around you and feel pumped when you can help those around you grow.
- To hit the ground running at Auror you’ll need to have 5+ years of experience in SaaS, have a solid product and engineering background, likely having been a software engineer for a good part of your career before taking on more product, management, and customer facing roles.
We are looking for people who demonstrate a strong alignment to our Guiding Principles (you can find these on our Careers page).
