Role Overview: Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an important part of our B2B SaaS/PaaS product. The content is typically in the form of documentation made available through our knowledge base and online product documents, but may also take the form of UI text, illustrations, sample product configurations, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the medium, technical writers are expected to explain complex topics in a way that helps users understand the product and, most importantly, helps them achieve their business goals and tasks with the product.
Responsibilities:
- Design, write, and maintain technical documentation related to the BillingPlatform SaaS application for customers and internal stakeholders
- Produce, edit, and curate instructive (how-to) content that will help customers to better understand the platform and to accomplish complex tasks with it
- Create and maintain sample product configurations that assist in educating users
- Edit, proofread, and improve documents written by others and coach non-writers on how to improve writing skills
- Collaborate with fellow technical writers, product managers, engineers, designers, implementation engineers, customer success staff, and other internal stakeholders
- Mentor and directly supervise a small, geographically dispersed team of technical writers
- Manage and improve processes that drive technical documentation creation
- Administer tools used in the technical documentation process
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Writing, Accounting, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on clear and concise communication
- Experience in accounting, billing, or a related industry is preferred.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and manage information architectures, enabling both business and technical audiences to easily access the information they need
- Strong writing and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively alongside cross-functional teams, particularly in billing, accounting, finance, or payments
- A strong desire to grow into a leadership or management role
- Preferred experience with Agile development methodologies, particularly working alongside engineering teams to produce timely, accurate software documentation
- Familiarity with common technical writing tools and software is a plus.
- Ideally able to work out of our Denver Tech Center office a few days a week.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Additionally, there is potential for bonus compensation, providing further opportunity for financial growth based on individual and company performance. Salary information is provided per state regulations in CA, CO, CT, MD, NV, NY, RI, and WA.
