JOB OVERVIEW
Employees that fall under the “Server” position will ensure guests in the dining area receive the best possible customer service by facilitating food and beverage orders, answering any questions from guests to the best of their knowledge, processing payments for guests in the dining area, and directing Server Support personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready to work (Do not arrive at shift start time and spend 10 minutes “Getting Ready.”)
- - Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of both food and beverage menus.
- - Complete any Server-side work at the beginning, during, and at the end of the shift including but not limited to: polishing and rolling silverware, stocking server stations, brewing coffee and/or tea, maintaining tidiness of server stations and back hallway, etc.
- - Take guests’ food and beverage orders in a timely manner, assisting with any questions or special accommodations they may require.
- - Ensure that food and beverages are delivered to the guests in a timely manner.
- - Utilize the Point of Sale system to manage checks, split checks, and process payments.
- - Efficiently direct Server Support personnel to assist in completing any of the above tasks.
- - Complete any additional tasks as delegated by Bar Management.
- - Attend monthly staff meetings scheduled by Bar Management.

- Be able to interact with guests and provide an exceptional level of customer service
- Be comfortable processing payments via cash and card methods
- Possess experience using a Point of Sale system.
- Possess knowledge of what is an acceptable form of identification and how to confirm ID authenticity
- Possess a high level of attention to detail
- Be able to multi-task effectively
- Be able to complete tasks quickly and efficiently as directed
- Be able to work both supervised and unsupervised
- Be able to maintain and exceed cleanliness standards for both Front of House and Back of House areas
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- - Clear and effective communication skills are required.
- - Possess a high level of knowledge regarding serving etiquette
- - Possess a high level of knowledge regarding liquor, wine, and beer and the way they are served
- - Possess a knowledge and awareness of various food allergies and restrictions
- - Experience in a customer service environment is required.
- - Experience with food and beverage service is required.
- - Experience handling cash and processing cash and credit card payments is required.
- - Possess a current Colorado TIPS certification. If you are not currently TIPS certified, you will be expected to complete the certification upon being hired.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to be on your feet and/or walk continuously during a shift up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to lift 30lbs.
Work Environment:
As a Server at Ace Gillett’s, you will be working in an indoor, underground lounge that can hold up to 150 customers. The job can be fast paced and you will be expected to continuously keep busy for the entire duration of your shift. You will be working with a team of 5-15 co-workers, including both front and back of the house. You will have direct interactions with our customers and will have to represent Ace Gillett’s in a positive fashion. There will be situations that may arise, with customers or otherwise, that you might not be able to effectively handle yourself. In these situations, you will be expected to seek assistance from your co-workers or management.
