The Travelling Technician is responsible for the testing and inspection of a wide range of access control and IP Camera products and systems. As a customer facing employee, the Security Preventative Maintenance Technician must be a personable, knowledgeable self-starter who is capable of making sound decisions that are in the best interest of the customer and Unlimited Technology.
The Mid-level Electronic Security Technician to support clients throughout the US.
The Mid-level Electronic Security Technician will plan and perform security system installations, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and demolition tasks. Security systems include access control systems, burglar alarm systems, IP cameras and door hardware.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Service and test various Access Control and IP Camera products and platforms.
- Must possess basic programming skills associated with the UTI product line.
- Must be able to read and comprehend engineered drawings.
- Must have a basic understanding of door hardware installation.
- Thoroughly complete all necessary paperwork relating to job tickets.
- Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
- Be able to work at elevated heights more than 12’ above ground.
- Ability to work safely under all conditions.
- Communicate all project activity to the UTI project manager or appropriate manager in a timely manner.
- Maintain the condition and cleanliness of any company provided vehicle.
- Maintain a safe driving record and report any incidents or near misses to management immediately.
- Attend any product or safety training that is required
- Must be able to complete and maintain any customer specific training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or state-recognized equivalent.
- At least one (1)to five (5) years of security installation experience and network ability.
- Knowledgeable of security equipment systems (i.e., intrusion detection, assessment, and access control).
- Capable of installing and maintaining various alarms, access control, and assessment system devices.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently.
- Valid state driver license with a clean driving record for the last three (3) years.
- Ability to obtain and retain a U.S. Government Security Clearance preferred DCJS Certified or ability to obtain is required.
- Prior troubleshooting experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Project a bonus.
- Willingness to travel on the East Coast, if needed.
- Security industry certifications.
- Knowledge of: Software House, Lenel, AMAG, Galaxy, Brivo, Bosch, Southwest Microwave, Genetec, and/or Onssi.
