Position Overview
St. Luke’s School seeks an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Development Communications and Stewardship Manager to oversee, craft, and implement the communications outputs and stewardship tools in the Development Office. This is an opportunity to inform and elevate department norms and practices. The Development Communications and Stewardship Manager reports to the Director of Development.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Manage the creation of Development communications in coordination with Development colleagues.
- Draft donor messaging to execute effective targeted communications.
- Serve as liaison with the Marketing & Communications Department.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Department to write and place development-related stories and announcements in internal and external publications.
- Coordinate with the Development Assistant on external printers and graphic designers.
- Generate lively, authentic, and diverse development department content for social media channels - enthusiastically seeking excellence in storytelling collaboratively with faculty, students, and coaches.
- Prepare and coordinate constituent correspondence including letters, invitations, appeal brochures, invitations, and other development-related communications.
- Create content for the Development section of the website, parent and alumni digital newsletters.
- Oversee and manage the design and production of the Annual Report and other Case materials.
- Lead and organize the communication and protocols for the donor thank you process.
- Assist in coordinating with Development team members on communications with Endowment Fund Donors.
- Partner with Development Assistant to Implement and manage stewardship and donor recognition procedures that enable and encourage best practices and consistency in donor stewardship.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Development.
Key Skills & Qualities
- Three or more years of experience in communications.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, and or a similar field.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Experience with digital photography and video preferred
- Experience with managing social media for a company or not-for-profit organization
- Utilize graphic design and photography skills to enhance visual communication materials
- Ability to work independently and as a team player with a range of constituents and colleagues
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (G Suite) tools and functionality
- Familiarity with email marketing software and best practices
- Proficiency with Canva, Photoshop, In-Design, or other basic design platform
- Experience with CRMs; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, Online Express, and/or RENXT a plus.
