All Habitat Services is an ecological services firm that manages and remediates invasive species within the environment. The company offers outdoor work opportunities in different environments, such as forested hills and tidal coastlines, and has positions available in Vegetation, Aquatic, and Mosquito management. The positions are typically seasonal but may offer opportunities for year-round employment.
Keep in mind that you will be required to work outside in varying weather conditions and handle physical activities, such as hiking and heavy lifting. The company is looking for individuals who can start in April or May and work through August or September, and the dates may be flexible depending on the applicant's availability.
As a Technician with All Habitat Services, your primary responsibility will be to apply herbicides, algaecides, and biological controls under the supervision of a certified supervisor. You will need to follow detailed directions and be able to read and understand pesticide labels, Safety Data Sheets, and hazardous pesticide signal words.
Depending on your assigned job, you may be required to operate various types of equipment, such as trucks, trailers, boats, tracked all-terrain vehicles, UTVs, tractors, and other application equipment. You will be working outside in all weather conditions and will need to be able to handle physical activities such as long periods of standing, walking, hiking over uneven terrain, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
We typically start our workday around 7:00 am, and at times, you may be required to work extended hours, including travel time to and from job sites.

Requirements
Qualifications for consideration:
To work for All Habitat Services as a Technician, you must meet several requirements:
- You must be at least 18 years old and having a high school diploma or equivalent. A bachelor's degree or course of study in a related field, such as Environmental Science, Biology, Forestry, Wetland, or Lake Management, is preferred but not required.
- While knowledge of plant identification and invasive species common to Connecticut is helpful, it is not required.
- You must have strong basic math skills and an understanding of ratios.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills are also required.
- If the role we are considering you for requires you to drive a company vehicle you must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record to remain insurable. Some driving roles may require passing a DOT physical.
- Upon hire, you will need to obtain a CT Commercial Pesticide Junior Operator's Certificate and OSHA 10 certificate, which will be paid for by the company.
- Experience with electronic reporting on an iPad is helpful, but the willingness to learn is also acceptable.
- You must have flexibility in your schedule to work extended hours as needed, especially during the peak season.
