This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our success while developing your HR career. You will be responsible for a wide range of HR related tasks including maintaining records, administering a variety of HR processes, fielding employee questions, and supporting an excellent employee experience while also providing general administrative support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting background checks and managing the employee onboarding process. Develop and implement effective onboarding strategies to ensure new hires are well-prepared for success.
  • Human Resources Administration: Oversee essential HR functions such as maintaining employee records, processing payroll, managing benefits, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. Address employee questions related to payroll, benefits and company policies.
  • H2B Visa Program: Support the administration of our H2B visa program, including applicant screening, paperwork, and employee relations.
  • General Office Administration: Provide administrative support to the executive team and sales department, including scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and coordinating company events.
  • Additional Duties - This is a new position that will likely evolve over time in terms of scope and responsibility based on individual competencies and interests. The Greenwich Tent Company is a collaborative team where we ask all team members to support each other as necessary to achieve the company’s goals.

Hourly compensation range $24.00 to $32.00 per hour commensurate with skills and experience.

Schedule: 25 hours/week – actual schedule to be determined

Location: Bridgeport, CT  

Classification: Part Time, non-exempt (overtime eligible)

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundational understanding of the human resource function. You should be comfortable and competent using technology to aid in efficiency of administrative processes and be self-motivated to learn and grow with our unique organization.   • Minimum of two years of related experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships.
  • Highly professional and trustworthy with a passion for delivering exceptional service, both internally and externally.
  • Strong writing, editing and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience solving problems and making sound decisions.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Well-developed organizational and time-management skills to ensure that you can manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline driven environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning and implementing new technology. 
  • Approachable and engaging with a high level of professionalism and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of persoanlity styles.
  • Must enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team to reach challenging goals.
