About You
We’re seeking a resulted-focused, innovative, self-driven and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Manufacturing Accounting Manager based out of our Torrington, Connecticut location, you will identify, manage, and control cost savings opportunities through transactional analyses of manufacturing operations and inventories by partnering with the operations team on financial performance, initiatives, cost reductions, and KPIs. By coordinating financial and business planning and forecasting and reviewing business analyses with functional managers to ensure data accuracy and implement cost savings initiatives
You will:
- Provide Finance business partnership to Manufacturing and Operations by investigating and identifying cost drivers, making modifications in costing systems to ensure accurate product costings and enhanced profitability
- Implement continuous improvements and efficiencies relating to manufacturing costs by preparing timely analyses of business results and trends that capture, communicate and present monthly and yearly performance vs budget; by leading the drive to eliminate wastes of time, money and effort in operations
- Improve profitability and manufacturing wellness by working with stakeholders to identify the main drivers of manufacturing scrap; by developing and disseminating financial information that enables decisionmakers to reduce scrap costs
- Analyze production variances and develop solutions by identifying, reviewing and resolving variances to root cause, performing related balance sheet account reconciliations, and reporting out findings and solutions to Finance and Operations managers
- Support business development and growth by providing margin analysis by customer, product line, and market – for existing, new and potential product and service offerings
- Develop and sponsor product costing by working cross functionally to establish best production practices relative to standard costing and manufacturing accounting operations including appropriate system set-ups and costing methodologies; by performing set-up, testing and implementation to ensure appropriate inventory valuations.
- Maintain business and regulatory financial reporting requirements in a timely manner by preparing, filing, and supporting related audits for month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial statements; by analyzing and supporting inventory provision balances and working through budget/ forecasts as it relates to cost of goods sold and related account balances
Requirements
You should have:
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related; MBA a plus
- CPA or CMA a plus
- Advanced Excel skills is a must. Advanced knowledge and experience working with ERP systems and set up; JD Edwards Enterprise-1 preferred, Power BI a plus
- 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to influence through persuasion and self-initiative

Salary: $117,000 - $143,000
Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of our company's total compensation packages for employees.
