Purpose and Objective
The Pension Analyst Supervisor will co-lead a growing team of analysts located in our Stamford, CT location who service annuitants and clients from Legal & General’s U.S. Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) business. The team also provides our Service Associate team with ongoing training support for sophisticated processes, product training, and pension concepts.
The Supervisor will collaborate with the Pension Analyst Manager to develop and implement strategies, technologies, standards, procedures, and measurements that improve overall efficiency and quality. They will also be expected to take ownership of a small number of ad hoc projects, high-profile cases and provide necessary services, as needed. The Pension Analyst Supervisor is required to be onsite in our Stamford, CT office 2 days a week.
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of Pension Analysts who service annuitants and clients from Legal & General’s U.S. Pension Risk Transfer business. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of day-to-day operations to help ensure that the Retirement Services Pension organization meets or exceeds productivity and quality standards.
- Monitor and document employee performance including productivity, quality, work habits, attendance, etc. Ensure feedback and training are commensurate with performance.
- Provide coaching to develop team members and take disciplinary action, if necessary. Write and deliver semiannual performance reviews.
- Collaborate with Pension Analysts to develop, document, and maintain procedures for all facets of work. Ensure comprehensive training is provided for new employees and ongoing training is provided to all Pension Analysts.
- Guiding the Pension Analyst team to properly administer contracts in accordance with the plan sponsor requirements, including benefit calculations in collaboration with the Pricing Team.
- Responsible for insuring timely and effective communication between the Pension Analyst team and internal/external clients.
- Partner with IT team on system improvements, ensuring the team is doing a thorough validation and identifying defects.
- Lead the annual tax form review, adjustment, and sign-off process.
- Manage approval of daily payment process for annuitant payments.
- Research administrative system data and create reports as needed.
- Collaborate with multiple departments across the business as needed to adapt for ad hoc specialized project work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of management/leadership experience.
- 3+ years of pension customer service or retirement plan administration experience.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and engage others.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with familiarity in basic accounting principles and/or pension calculations a plus.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities with a project management mentality in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain relationships.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills; ability to deliver information in a concise manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite.
- Candidates residing in New York will be required to come into the office 5 days a week.
- Willingness to travel as needed to office locations.

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $66,413 - $80,000 USD annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The current bonus target for the position is 5% of the base salary with a stretch to twice the target, modified for corporate and individual performance.
