About You
We’re seeking a resulted-focused, innovative, self-driven and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Process Engineer II. Based out of Torrington, Connecticut, you will enhance revenue, increase throughput, reduce cost, and maximize First Pass Yield (FPY) through the hands-on development and implementation of robust manufacturing processes, controls, and equipment while using tools including Root Cause Analysis, Flow Charts, SOPs, Work Instructions, Design Reviews, Control Plans, and PFMEA’s. Leading cost reduction efforts involving labor, materials, and overhead. Supporting innovation in new product development and prototype design, as well as the establishment of functional testing protocols, while ensuring adherence to chemical manufacturing standards and best practices. Providing assessment of equipment capabilities and managing upgrades and replacements as needed with a strong focus on processing equipment automation and optimization.
You will:
- Maximize production efficiencies by analyzing current production processes, identifying bottlenecks, and continuously monitoring and optimizing workflows to reduce waste and increase process output of manufactured adhesives.
- Introduce and scale up new products for successful market launch by ensuring seamless manufacturing integration in developing new products (NPIs) and scaling up processes for new and revised products.
- Develop subject matter expertise, and lead the adoption of best practices by enhancing professional acumen through workshops and research, and by implementing liquid and solid mixing and dispersion science, and by maximizing product manufacturing viabilities through state-of-the art mixing systems.
- Develop manufacturing consistency and quality by standardizing processes, training colleagues and operators, and by continuously improving work instructions and SOPs, and implementing processes and documentation changes.
- Execute process validation protocols by designing and conducting experiments to optimizing production process parameters and controls, analyzing data to ensure processes meet predefined criteria, documenting validation activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and retention by resolving customer complaints utilizing effective root cause analysis tools, minimizing risk by participating in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs), implementing process flow schemes and controls plans, driving continuous improvements in product manufacturing quality, and by making the necessary associated improvements to Dymax systems.
- Optimize manufacturing flexibility and efficiency by planning and calculating workspace requirements and employing design strategies to create flexibility of manufacturing cells for high mix / low volume demand, and new products.
Requirements
You should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering (with chemical manufacturing experience) or Mechanical Engineering (with chemical manufacturing experience).
- Credentials in continuous improvement management a plus.
- Proficiency in enterprise software required, JD Edwards E-1 desirable.
- 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing including new product development.
- Compliance with ISO policies and adherence to a Quality Management System.
- Background in adhesives is highly desired.
- Experience and/or training in liquid and solid mixing preferred.
- Hands on experience with manufacturing and packaging equipment preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation: $84,000-$126,000
Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range.
