About You
We’re seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Quality Engineer - Adhesives. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will Ensure Dymax adhesives meet quality and compliance standards through the hands-on installation and evaluation of quality process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques. Promoting continuous improvement and innovation in quality assurance methodologies by conducting internal audits, specifying inspection and testing mechanisms, analyzing production norms, and revising specifications and manufacturing processes as needed.
In addition, you will:
- Establish, manage, maintain and creating awareness of quality standards by formulating quality assurance plans and procedures, and interfacing with customers, suppliers, Dymax engineering groups, and integrated product team managers to develop and conduct training on quality concepts and tools.
- Define and implement effective Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans by hands-on analyzing of quality issues with internal and external customers, suppliers, and operations management to identify deviations. Coaching colleagues to perform Root Cause Analyses, 8D, PFMEAs, and Control Plans to ensure sustainable solutions and continuous improvement.
- Ensure products meet specified quality standards and regulatory requirements by conducting inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement and optimization, employing analytics to effectuate continuous improvements and change.
- Validate machinery and instrumentation performance standards and requirements by continually improving the inspection, calibration, testing, and modification of instrumentation, equipment, and mechanics to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
- Drive efficiencies into stage-gate processes by validating product manufacture prior to and post product commercialization, including testing equipment used in the lot acceptance of raw materials and finished goods.
- Oversee Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reduction processes by investigating customer issues, audit findings, and quality concerns, performing RCCA on critical escapes, and verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions taken.
- Establish quality and reliability standards for finished products by developing and analyzing statistical data and product specifications. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement Lean and Six Sigma principles to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Manage risks in production processes and methodologies by identifying and assessing potential risks and developing mitigation strategies. Establishing and maintaining inspection and testing protocols for incoming materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
- Create awareness and problem-solving responsiveness to Quality issues and initiatives by regularly interfacing across multiple company functions, particularly Operations Management, Supplier Quality, Product Excellence, and Customer Experience.
Requirements
You should have:
- BA/BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or equivalency.
- 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing, chemical manufacturing advantageous.
- 3+ years’ experience preferred in Quality Management Systems, specifically IATF and ISO9001.
- Analytical problem-solving skills such as DIVE, 5-Why, Fishbone, and 8D methods, Lean and Six Sigma experience.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Microsoft Office and Minitab. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and EtQ are a plus.
- QMS, PPAP, Six Sigma methodologies, NPD, 8D experience.

Salary Range: $71,000-106,000
Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of our company's total compensation packages for employees.
