Palm Venture Studios is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Talent Associate. This would start part time (10-20 hours per week) but could grow into full time work over time. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission of rescuing and building companies that positively impact human and planetary health. Our network of venture studios provides the rescue capital, expertise, and support that startups need to thrive.
As a Talent Associate, you will work directly with our management to recruit talented people for our portfolio companies. You will work closely with our Managing Director and our people operations tools to identify and recruit top talent, ensuring that our ventures are staffed with individuals who share our vision and values. This position is ideal for a strong generalist with experience in people, talent, or recruiting, who wants to support mission driven companies with their work.
In this role you will learn how to hire excellent people, using effective and efficient methods. You will also learn about the strategy and operations the go into running a portfolio of mission-driven companies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the recruitment including drafting/editing job postings, screening resume, scheduling interviews, conducting phone screens, and conducting reference checks.
- Use our applicant tracking system (Workable) to organize our hiring workflows, maintain candidate pipelines, and build our network-wide talent pool.
- Develop lists of prospects for key roles, including using LinkedIn and other sourcing tools.
- Draft scopes of work, employment contracts, and other talent-related documents.
- Support the development of various org performance projects and culture workflows.
- Assist with HR initiatives such as employee trainings, performance evaluations, and benefits administration.
Requirements
- Overall ability to be diligent, thorough, and thoughtful in your work.
- 1-2 years of experience in recruiting, talent, people operations, or executive search support.
- General knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
- Strong communication skills (especially in writing), and the ability to build rapport with people quickly.
- Being highly organized and able to manage your time very effectively.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
