The Brydon Group is a private equity firm that partners with outstanding mid-career executives to acquire business-to-business (B2B), business-to-government (B2G), and healthcare software and services businesses. Brydon’s three founding partners have had multiple successful exits in software, multi-decade experience in large cap private equity (Blackstone, Carlyle) and bulge bracket banking (Goldman, JP Morgan), and extensive public service backgrounds. We closed our $100M Fund 1 in February 2023 and have made seven acquisitions in the last 12 months.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As Director of Portfolio Operations at The Brydon Group you will play a pivotal role in supporting a unique and exciting portfolio of growing businesses and talented leaders. The PortOps team supports value creation across Brydon’s portfolio companies and the ongoing development of strong executive teams within them. Your day-to-day will focus on 3 primary areas: (1) talent attraction, (2) professional development, and (3) systems, processes, and infrastructure. In addition, you will have the opportunity to support individual portfolio companies and CEOs on specific value creation initiatives, build relationships with 3rd party experts, and support ongoing benchmarking efforts. This role will be a critical member of the team, will serve as the talent & portfolio infrastructure lead for the firm, and will have ample opportunity for growth. This role reports to Partner, Portfolio Operations.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent attraction:
- Lead the annual Brydon CEO-in-Residence recruiting, application, and onboarding process
- Build and manage the Brydon CXO talent pipeline for portfolio companies
- Support targeted CXO (CFO, COO, CIO) openings with direct proactive outreach & when applicable, partnering with targeted recruiters
- Build and manage the Brydon Board talent pipeline for portfolio companies & support targeted board search openings
- Work with Brydon GP & CEOs to build out high-functioning company boards and company advisors
- Support MBA Fellows/intern processes from sourcing, to staffing, to development
- Manage Alumni programs
- Lead creation of talent collateral – recruiting materials/presentations, storytelling
Professional development:
- Create professional development programs for Brydon CEOs and CXOs
- Support annual development processes – including CEO and Board
- Manage the design and execution of Brydon annual retreats and quarterly in-person trainings
Systems, processes, and infrastructure:
- Steward and improve on Brydon Operating System – supporting deployment across portfolio companies
- Steward and improve standard 100-day plans, monthly metrics, quarterly board reports, and annual budget planning
- Establish KPIs and dashboard to monitor and measure portfolio initiatives – lead reporting and synthesis on an ongoing basis
- Monitor and track portfolio company performance against key operational metrics and milestones, providing regular updates to senior management and investors
- Lead knowledge management processes quarterly/annually, enhancing best practices repository & information-sharing across the portfolio
- Establish continuous improvement processes
- Support cross-functional teams on fundraising workstreams, LP requests / reporting, and other
Portfolio company initiatives:
- Foster strong relationships with portfolio company management teams, serving as a trusted advisor and resource for operational expertise
- Conduct periodic benchmarking across the portfolio
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree required, graduate degree preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in consulting, corporate strategy, talent / recruiting, and / or portfolio operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making at all levels
- Motivated self-starter with ability to work well in an unstructured environment
- Bonus points for passion and interest in small business, software, and/or private equity
- High degree of integrity
