Full Job Description
Quona Capital is seeking a detail-oriented Fund Accountant to own and drive Quona’s fund-related accounting functions. The Fund Accountant will be a core member of our collaborative and fast-paced Finance & Accounting team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance who is based in our Washington, D.C. office. The role requires excellent time management skills, a passion for delivering the best customer service, natural curiosity and eagerness to learn and contribute daily.

Location
Washington DC-area residence location a plus, which facilitates regular in-office collaboration. Remote work is possible (Central or Eastern time zone preferred. Occasional travel to DC or another global location would be expected).
Requirements
Fund Accounting
- Lead day-to-day accounting needs of the funds, Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), and relevant GP entities such as invoice processing and booking, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, etc.
- Collaborate with the external fund administrator on a monthly closing of the funds’ books
- Ensure compliance with bank reporting requirements related to capital call lines of credit by timely filing of monthly and quarterly reports
- Review draft quarterly financial statements prepared by the fund administrator
- Initiate, coordinate and review capital activity including capital call and distribution notices
- Assist with the quarterly valuation process
- Reconcile internal books with the records of the fund administrator quarterly
- Lead preparation of the financial summaries for quarterly and annual investor reports
- Contribute to the successful and timely completion of annual audit and tax
- Work closely with Quona compliance team to ensure adherence to the requirements outlined in the funds’ agreements and investor side letters, or issued by the regulatory bodies overseeing Quona’s activities
Investment team support
- Maintain fund performance tracking platform (Cobalt) up to date accurately recording cashflows of the funds
- Assist with research and technical support related to tax and accounting considerations in structuring new and exiting existing investments
Limited Partner support
- Coordinate with the Investor Relations and the fund administrator teams to ensure accurate and prompt responses to recurring and ad-hoc investor inquiries
- Assist in the preparation of capital call projections and annual budgets
Skills and Competencies
- Team player, positive attitude and can-do approach; be nimble and be able to scale work up or down as needed
- Curious mindset and demonstrable critical thinking skills
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with solid understanding of debits and credits
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2+ years of experience at an investment management firm and/or fund administrator
- Ability to read and interpret legal and tax documents
- Fluency in English, excellent writing and communication skills.
- Self-starter able to operate with a high degree of autonomy; detail-oriented and efficient
- Ability to proactively plan and problem-solve.
