As the Donations Marketplace Product Manager, you’ll have the flexibility and ownership to run with opportunities you uncover, co-create experiences with external stakeholders, and collaborate with cross-functional team members, feeding insights into long-term business goals and strategies. This is a highly visible role, reporting to the VP of Product, and offers an exciting opportunity to help us rethink online charitable giving and deliver our next-generation giving platform.

About the Role:
We have an immediate opportunity for a strategic product management leader with extensive experience in e-commerce technology (e.g., shopping carts, payment systems, and APIs), data analytics, and digital marketing. The successful candidate will be:
- Deeply curious about our donors and community of nonprofit partners. You want to know what inspires them and what delights them.
- Excited about data. You actively monitor market trends and continuously study site visitor behavior using data, metrics, and testing to help guide improvements.
- Innovative and willing to take some risks. You proactively seek new ways to delight and you’re willing to try new things, help us apply learnings, and iterate.
- Strategic in prioritizing product changes.You align new features and improvements to strategic priorities to ensure time and resources are managed well across competing enhancements, ideas, and requests. Sometimes, this means saying ‘not now’ to the many requests that come our way.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality experiences. You bring a growth-marketing mindset because our giving platform needs to be more than a place to donate; it needs to be an experience that builds trust and inspires donors to give to the causes they care about again and again.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Owns the product strategy for the development of technology and experiences that help us drive more funding and resources to our community of nonprofit partners.
- Develops and owns the marketplace product roadmap, balancing the needs of donors and nonprofits and optimizing for a mix of effectiveness and delight.
- Keeps up to date on industry trends and becomes the Subject Matter Expert for marketplace product needs.
- Leads with a data-driven approach and design research strategies to test proposed solutions cost-effectively to minimize risk while continuing to learn and deliver incremental value.
- Writes user stories and maintains a robust product backlog, ruthlessly prioritizing the most important changes for engineering sprints.
- Finds creative ways to solve problems and leverages approaches that can be used across a diverse set of partners, countries, and regions.
- Uses design thinking and data science to build and optimize experiences for a global online platform.
- Work cross-functionally with the Design, Engineering, Data, and various internal business and operations teams, effectively juggling priorities.
- Defines key performance indicators and effective tracking mechanisms to measure performance.
- Monitors, analyzes and reports on metrics regularly to identify trends and opportunities.
- Ensures compliance with marketplace policies and regulations.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
For this role to be a great fit, the following qualifications should resonate with you:
- Minimum of 5 years in software/IT product management, leading a global e-commerce or marketplace platform.
- Demonstrated understanding of web technologies, browsers, content management systems, search engine optimization, APIs, analytics, and reporting.
- Proficiency with e-commerce technology and marketplace management tools.
- Experience collaborating with UX/UI Designers to develop best-in-class personalized experiences.
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset You know how to test new ideas using rapid prototypes, A/B testing, and other research approaches.
- Customer-centric, well-versed in design thinking and Agile software development methodologies, and know how to build products incrementally.
- Strong project management skills and experience managing large, cross-functional team projects.
- Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills and the ability to handle escalations effectively.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude. You seek to clearly understand and articulate a problem, and you are deeply curious before you consider a solution.

Salary range: $95K - $105K

Location
This is a full-time position reporting to the VP of Product. GlobalGiving is a hybrid workplace allowing for frequent remote work. While candidates based in the greater Washington, DC, area are preferred, we will consider strong candidates who wish to work remotely.
