Mid-Level Emergency Management Planner

ARETUM, a leading government contracting company specializing in technology-enabled mission support services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mid-Level Emergency Management Planner to join our team. As a Mid-Level Emergency Management Planner at ARETUM, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing comprehensive emergency management plans to support disaster response and recovery operations.

Responsibilities

• Providing planning support, operational research, project management, planning and facilitating meetings and correspondence, coordinating planning efforts, and developing and writing plans using the FEMA Six-Step Planning Process.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective emergency response and recovery strategies.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to minimize the impact of disasters.
• Support emergency exercises and drills to evaluate the effectiveness of response plans.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in emergency management.

Requirements

• 4+ years emergency management planning experience, including practical knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS)
• Experience and expertise with a formal planning process (e.g., FEMA Operational Planning Manual (FOPM) and the Six-Step Planning Process, the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), and/or DOD’s Joint Planning and Execution System (JOPES))
• Ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with planning partners or other multi-disciplinary teams.
• Reside within the DC metro area – i.e., ability to commute to FEMA HQ as needed
• Ability to receive a public trust suitability prior to beginning work on the project
• Preferred
• Existing DHS or FEMA Entry on Duty suitability
• Experience working in insurance or national security related field
• Experience in federal government consulting
• Experience in IT, cybersecurity, or national security related field
• Familiarity with Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/FEMA programs or initiatives
