Auria is looking to hire a DevSecOps Engineer in Orlando, FL, to support the development and deployment of the Wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Trend Analysis & Anomaly Resolution Subsystem (WSTARS). The ideal candidate will perform DevSecOps tasks to deliver a major component of the system used to provide the Department of Defense (DOD) Wideband Military Satellite Communications (SATCOM) satellite network and payload control. Occasional travel to customer and government sites is expected with this position.
The DevSecOps engineer is responsible for embedding development, security, and operations concepts through the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines that ensure integration and deployment methodologies are in line with industry best practices. This role requires excellent technical, communication, and collaboration skills, as this individual works closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and shape the design of assigned systems.

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
- CI/CD Pipeline Integration – Incorporate various tools and best practices into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated testing and scanning occur at each stage of the system integration and deployment stage. Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high CI/CD pipeline standards.
- Automation Script Development – Develop, maintain, and optimize automation scripts to enhance tools and processes within the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring efficient and consistent application of best practices and standards across all deployments.
- Implement Secure Deployment Practices – Ensure that deployment processes are secure and ensure that deployed systems, applications, and containers maintain integrity, are secured against potential threats, and are free from vulnerabilities.
- Documentation and Communication – Produce essential system documentation and effectively communicate complex technical details to various stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement – Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to define and implement innovative software solutions for space and communications projects.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET security clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship)
- Fundamental knowledge of DevSecOps concepts, best practices, methodologies, and frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Ansible, Terraform, Nexus, Puppet, or other similar tools, as well as security tools such as SonarQube, Aqua, or other similar tools.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, and other similar tools.
- Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., GitLab) and an understanding of branching strategies, commit conventions, and collaborative development best practices.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Bash, YAML, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
- Experience with cloud-based environments such as AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure GCC High, Google Cloud, or on-premises virtualization technologies such as ESXi or Hyper-V.
- Ability to create clear and comprehensive system documentation, including design descriptions, requirements specifications, test plans, user guides, and other engineering documents.
- Holds a current CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DOD Directive 8570 certification.
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills that provide the capability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency with M.S. Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current U.S. Government SECRET security clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship).
- Advanced proficiency in multiple scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, YAML, PowerShell, and other languages.
- Significant expertise in advanced CI/CD tools and techniques, including deployment strategies, rollbacks, and container security best practices.
- Holds advanced certification such as a CISSP, OSCP, CSSLP, or CSSLP; cloud-specific certification such as AWS Certified Security Specialty or Azure Security Engineer; or certification in DevSecOps or CI/CD such as Docker Certified Associate or Kubernetes Administrator.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team using tools to assist system development, such as Jira and Confluence.
Salary Range: $93,000 - $145,000
- Engineer Level 3: Bachelor's degree and seven or more years relevant experience, Master's degree and four or more years relevant experience
- Engineer Level 4: Bachelor's degree and 12 or more years of experience, Master's with nine or more years of experience
