Responsibilities

  • Manage patient medical records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain and organize physical and digital filing systems for easy retrieval of records.
  • Assist healthcare professionals with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence.
  • Input patient information into electronic medical record systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Respond to requests for medical records and coordinate with insurance companies as necessary.
  • Conduct regular audits of medical records to verify accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff when addressing inquiries regarding medical records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical records or office administration preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Records Clerk, Office Secretary, or similar role in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations (HIPAA).
  • Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
