Office Manager (Full Time)

Industry: Commercial Renovation and Construction

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Compensation: Annual salary of $45,000 - $55,000 + benefits package (see below for details)

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm; Fridays 8:00am - 2:00pm

Summary of Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (although a four-year related degree is preferred)
  • Three (3)+ years of professional office experience
  • Willingness to learn about the construction industry and pick up new skills
  • Strong attention to detail and good numbers sense

OliverSperry Renovation was founded in 2007 by veteran builders Bill Oliver and Todd Sperry, because we believed that commercial renovation projects deserved to be treated as a specialized sector, instead of just a way to keep employees busy between new construction projects. We have always focused on delivering a unique client experience for projects that fit this thoughtfully created niche. Currently, we have a staff of over 20 employees with an annual volume of between $10 and $12 million. Bill is currently serving on the Board of Habitat for Humanity, and Todd is the past chair of the United Way of the Big Bend, The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, and the Sales Tax Committee. About this position: We are looking for an organized and self-starting Office Manager to join our team. This forward-facing role will correspond (either in-person or over the phone) with many of our customers and vendors, in addition to handling a variety of general office management tasks. We understand that without a strong administrative foundation, even the best businesses will fall short of their full potential. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys providing essential support services towards exceeding company goals-- be it through tasks large or small. This position has the capacity to grow into other areas of the company should you show an aptitude for more complex functions.

Essential Functions of the Office Manager:

  • Greet customers, answer phones, and route callers to appropriate party
  • Communicate clearly with customers (external) and staff/vendors/subcontractors (internal)
  • Enter invoices into accounting system, file or disseminate records appropriately
  • Manage, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Coordinate recurring and incidental building maintenance activities
  • Order office and kitchen supplies as needed to maintain appropriate stock
  • Maintain accurate log of office equipment and research/replace as needed
  • Coordinate with third party IT service as needed
  • Pick up additional tasks under supervision of Controller

Requirements

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Has a high school diploma or equivalent (although a four-year related degree is prefered)
  • Has three (3)+ years of professional office experience
  • Is comfortable working in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Enjoys collaborating across departments to exceed company goals
  • Models servant leadership and seeks out ways to contribute
  • Has a strong attention to detail and strives for accuracy in their work
  • Is willing to learn about the construction industry and pick up additional tasks
  • Can commute to our Tallahassee-based office Monday - Friday
