David Heacock, the CEO of a $200 million company, has remained invisible online on purpose, waiting for this moment to tell his story and now needs your help!

We are seeking a dedicated Publicity Coordinator to drive the public profile of Filterbuy’s founder and CEO, David Heacock, through appearances on key digital platforms and strategic podcast bookings. David Heacock’s journey from quitting a VP job at Wall Street, to buying a struggling family company, to building Filterbuy to be the industry leader in indoor air quality is a story of innovation, risk-taking, and unparalleled commitment to excellence. As a Publicity Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in amplifying this narrative across influential channels, connecting with audiences who can appreciate and be inspired by the story.

We’re looking for a hungry, energetic professional who is driven to get David and Filterbuy’s story featured on as many high leverage platforms as possible. David has intentionally remained invisible online up to this point, waiting for the right moment, and now we are ready to uncover his story. We are looking to build up David as a strategic business leader, and to build the brand of the company to be transparent and authentic. You will also help manage the booking of guests for Filterbuy’s new podcast series on HVAC and air quality, which will further establish Filterbuy as a leader in the HVAC space.

This is a unique opportunity to break ground on a completely untold fascinating story from the ground up. And while you’ll largely be leading, you won’t be at it alone. You’ll receive support from industry veterans that have worked across some of media’s leading companies and startups across a variety of industries to hone your communications strategy and set you up for success. 

Filterbuy is a client of Snowball, and this role would directly be onboarded as a W2 employee of Filterbuy.

What you’ll do:

  • Strategic Media Placement: Develop and execute a focused media relations strategy aimed at booking David Heacock on high-leverage podcasts and other digital platforms.
  • Platform Identification: Identify and prioritize media platforms that align with Filterbuy’s brand and audience, ensuring each appearance is impactful and strategically valuable.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with podcast hosts, producers, and key media contacts to secure regular, high-quality placements.
  • Guest Booking & Logistics: Manage all aspects of booking, from initial outreach to coordination of appearances, including logistics, briefing materials, and post-appearance follow-up.
  • Content Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote David’s appearances, maximizing reach and engagement across all channels.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5-7+ years in strategic communications, public relations and media relations. 
  • Required Skills: Strong writing ability, project management experience, a track record of building and maintaining relationships with the media, a track record of results. Ideally looking for someone with experience working with media companies (and ideally podcasts) and/or startups more broadly (booking podcasts and founder interviews).
  • Business Acumen: Strong interest, curiosity, and passion for business and operations, and a knowledge of the driving narratives within business and entrepreneurship media. Strong media relationships at both the local and national level. Adaptable, creative, can-do attitude. Attention to detail, organized. 
  • Leadership: Ability to run autonomously and lead the development of a strategic outreach from scratch. Ability to collaborate with others.
