Simeon Global Consulting is seeking Shelter Staff responsible for providing care and support to individuals and families in disaster shelters. This role involves assisting with shelter operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of all shelter occupants, and providing a calm, supportive environment during times of crisis. Shelter Staff will work closely with other shelter personnel, volunteers, and community partners to maintain a well-organized and secure shelter environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shelter Operations Support: Assist in setting up and managing shelter facilities, including ensuring adequate supplies and resources are available.
- Care & Assistance: Provide compassionate care and support to shelter residents, addressing their needs and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Safety & Security: Help monitor the safety and security of the shelter, ensuring all shelter guidelines are followed.
- Coordination with Partners: Work closely with other shelter staff, volunteers, and external partners to ensure efficient shelter operations.
- Problem-Solving: Address any issues that arise within the shelter environment, ensuring a quick and effective resolution.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in emergency response, caregiving, or customer service is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a shelter or emergency setting.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks during high-stress situations.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must reside in the state of Florida.
- Must pass a background check upon offer of employment.
- Must be willing and able to travel to various work sites as needed.
- Must be willing and able to work long hours and adapt to changing environments.
