Senior Fund Accountant Position
We are seeking a driven and intellectually curious professional to add to our growing team at the Senior Accountant level. This professional will assist with managing the accounting and financial reporting functions for current and upcoming funds. Reporting to the Controller and working closely with the fund administrator, you will ensure financial data is accurate and deadlines are met. You will have oversight on all aspects of fund and firm financials and investor reporting. This role is highly collaborative reporting to and working directly with the Controller, as well as interacting often with senior management, fund administrator, external auditors, tax accountants, bank relationships and legal teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the third-party fund administrator and review financial statements and workpapers including NAV calculations, footnotes, and performance metrics, in accordance with US GAAP reporting requirements and following respective fund documents
- Prepare draft calculations of management fees and fund expense summaries
- Oversee preparation, delivery, and tracking of capital calls and distributions and review fee calculations and expense allocations as governed by fund agreements
- Assist with audits and other regulatory filings as necessary
- Assist with onboarding of new funds with the fund administrator
- Prepare and/or review responses to investor inquiries and ad hoc inquiries for internal and external parties
- Review fund agreements, PPMs, and other fund materials
- Assist in monthly and annual close process for management company
- Input invoices for payment for weekly AP and initiate wires
- Prepare monthly invoices for intercompany reimbursements
- Reconcile cash on a weekly basis
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Prior or current fund accounting or public accounting experience (Audit / Assurance, Advisory or Partnership Tax) with alternative investment clients is valued
- Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP (SEC financial reporting standards)
- Ability to review and prepare financial statements
- Experience with accounting software; Quickbooks preferred
- Excel proficiency (vlookup/sumifs/pivot tables)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to process information with speed, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail
- A strong interest in Private Equity
- CPA preferred
- Can-do attitude and desire to learn
Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000-120,000 USD/year. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: location, education, skills, training, and experience. This position may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
