The Role:
ContinuumCloud is growing and seeking a Tax & Compliance Analyst assigned to an external client base for payroll and tax processing to join our team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Tax & Compliance, this role is part of a dynamic software development environment with an emphasis on superior customer service and innovation.
The primary responsibility of the Tax & Compliance Analyst entails the regular withholding tax filings for our clients, ensures our payroll software complies with tax laws regulations, all taxes are reconciled, resolve any discrepancies and tax notices that may arise, including the amendment of payroll tax returns.
This salary range for this role may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of ContinuumCloud's total compensation package for employees. ContinuumCloud's salary range for this position
$55,000—$65,000 USD
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Reconcile and file monthly, quarterly, and annually payroll withholding tax returns, including amended returns.
- Make EFTPS and other tax payments for state and local entities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax issues for federal and local taxing authorities
- Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on our software.
- Ensure that clients' tax settings in our HCM software are accurate and compliant.
- Perform tax balancing and setup for new and existing clients
- Resolve, provide support and guidance to clients regarding tax-related inquiries.
- Handle time-sensitive tax issues and notices
- Follow up on issues to assure the problem has been resolved and client or specialist communication/update has occurred
- Identify and document problems and trends and recommend solutions to eliminate the same problem in the future
- Actively participate as a member of the team and support other team members as needed, including fill-in work for specialists, as required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you bring to the role:
- Four-year degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience in payroll, accounting or tax (Master's degree or professional certifications, such as CPP or EA is a plus)
- 1-3 years of experience preparing and filing payroll tax returns
- Familiar with Federal, State and Local withholding taxes (including income tax, unemployment, disability, etc)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Excel including formulas required (Knowledge of macros a plus)
- Strong organization and follow up skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Willing and able to adapt to a changing work environment
- Basic understanding of creating and maintaining PDF forms extremely helpful
