Position Overview
As a Paraprofessional/Associate Teacher, you will work closely with our lead teachers to support them in classroom activities and facilitate a positive learning environment for our students. You will assist in implementing lesson plans, providing one-on-one instruction, and supporting students with their individual needs. You will report to the Lead Teacher and work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the success of all students. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Support lead teachers in delivering instruction and managing classroom activities
- Assist with the implementation of lesson plans and materials
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students
- Support students with their academic, social, and emotional needs
- Monitor student behavior and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with lead teachers and other staff members to develop and implement interventions and accommodations for students
- Assist with grading and record-keeping
- Communicate regularly with lead teachers and parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or school leadership
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Pass criminal background check
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or associate teacher
- Experience working with middle school students
Benefits
Liberation Academy offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. The salary for this role is $32,000.
