We’re looking for a skilled Estimator to join our team at B2 Constructors. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for private and public commercial construction projects. You’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop detailed cost estimates, manage the bid cycle, and ensure project costs align with company financials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Analysis: Review plans, conduct site visits, and assess project conditions.
- Cost Estimation: Develop accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services, and maintain cost databases for competitive bidding.
- Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, attend pre-bid meetings, and ensure estimates are comprehensive and accurate.
- Risk Management: Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of all estimates, proposals, and reports for management review.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years in commercial construction estimating.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in takeoff and estimating software like On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and Quick Bid.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE).
- Experience in mechanical estimating and private sector projects.
- Field experience and knowledge of local building codes.
- OSHA 30 certified (or willing to become certified).
