Then look no further than Sankofa Montessori, GA's only State Commission-approved K-6 Public Montessori Charter School. We are hiring for a contracted Gifted Teacher. This role can be hybrid.

At Sankofa, the Gifted teacher provides specialized instruction or collaborates with classroom teachers to identified students through engaging and challenging sessions. In this role, the TAG (gifted) teacher will play a crucial role in nurturing the intellectual and creative abilities of gifted students, fostering an environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and a love for learning. The position reports to the Director of Student Support and Culture.

Role Summary and Information
Key Responsibilities:
- Identification and Assessment: Collaborate with school staff to identify and assess students for gifted education. Utilize various assessment tools to identify students' strengths, talents, and academic needs.
- Curriculum Development: Design and develop challenging and differentiated curriculum to meet the unique needs of gifted students. Collaborate with school staff to incorporate a variety of instructional strategies to enhance critical thinking and creativity.
- Individualized Instruction: Collaborate with school staff to tailor instruction to address individual learning styles and preferences and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration and independent thinking.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor the academic progress of gifted students. Provide feedback to students, parents, and school staff regarding student achievements and areas for growth.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other stakeholders to support the integration of gifted education within the broader curriculum.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Gifted Education, or a related field.
- Valid Current State certification in Gifted Education
- Previous experience in teaching gifted students
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, curriculum development, and the Georgia state standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of educators
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment
- Successful background check results required
Benefits
COMPENSATION
Sankofa Montessori’s compensation philosophy is to pay competitively for the PK-12 charter market to ensure equity across our institution. We pay between $25-$50 per hour for this role based on experience.
