MDT Institute is a newly established educational institution in Duluth, GA. Our parent corporation has been successfully helping students achieve their educational goals since 1997. MDT Institute is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). We are currently seeking Lead Dental Assisting Instructor to join our team of exceptionally motivated and passionate professionals. MDT has been committed to continuous program improvements in becoming a world class and innovative educational institution. Summary:
Primary responsibilities will be teaching Lead Dental Assisting courses, which are delivered in-person on campus and in hybrid environment. The courses will be assigned based on faculty expertise. The instructor will ensure that competencies required for successful completion of the program are achieved by learners through mastery of coursework and skill achievement.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivers education to ensure that competencies required for successful completion of the program taught as delineated through mastery of coursework and skill practicums.
- Implement a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs and support the desired learning outcomes.
- Conduct virtual classes using effective teaching strategies to engage students in the teaching-learning process.
- Conduct on campus labs/classes to teach and evaluate students skills and knowledge required in the profession.
- Provides timely, constructive, and thoughtful feedback to learners.
- Provides opportunities for learners to develop critical thinking skills and ethical reasoning.
- Work assigned office and tutoring hours to support student success.
- Implements formative and summative assessment and evaluation strategies.
- Enhances the teaching-learning process based upon data.
- Review curriculum periodically to identify areas of improvement.
- Assessment of facilities and equipment periodically in relation to current concepts of dental assisting and recommends appropriate modifications.
- Coordinate externship experiences and student externship evaluation.
Requirements
Credentials
- Holds a current dental assistant registration or certification through a nationally recognized and accredited certifying agency, or is a licensed dentist, and is proficient in four-handed and/or six handed dentistry principle.
Professional Experience
- Three (3) years of practical experience in dental assisting or a Dentist.
- Experience in teaching in a dental assisting program and in distance education delivery.
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:
Possess strong communication skills. Demonstrate professionalism and collaboration skills. Demonstrate detail-oriented and self-motivated behaviors. Possess interpersonal skills e.g. caring, confidence, patience, integrity and flexibility. Awareness of any applicable state requirements governing dental assisting programs. Active participation in professional development within the last 2 years.
