Senior Software Engineer

Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a mid- to senior-level Software Engineer who is ready to work with a talented team to provide innovative solutions for tomorrow’s problems. This position requires a software engineer to use a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test software products. The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will work independently at times on projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other software engineers, as well as other program development and deployment teams.

Selected applicant will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and must maintain eligibility for continued access to classified information throughout their employment as required by the job.

Requirements

What We Need To See:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or higher
• 10+ years C/C++ software development experience
• Strong background in software architecture, development, and integration in an Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) environment
• Experience with embedded software development/systems integration (C, C++, avionics/flight software preferred)
• Experience working in CI/CD environment and hardware-in-the-loop testing
• HW I/O device development and integration (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, RS232, discrete, analog)
• Proficient with Linux and Windows development environments
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• eligibility to obtain a DoD Active Secret Clearance

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:

• Experience using the Agile Software methodologies
• Tools: JIRA, GIT/Gitlab, Jenkins, DOORS
• Experience with software unit testing and static analysis tools
• Demonstrated expertise with ARINC-653 based operating systems
• Familiarity with DO-178C, MIL-HDBK-516 and safety-critical software development practices
• Experience with networking and socket programming (TCP/IP protocol stack, etc.)
• Experience with Python and scripting languages
