Full Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a Media Planner. In this role, you will develop integrated and multi-channel media plans that align with client marketing and business goals, campaign, and strategy briefs. You will work closely with the Associate Media Director to devise media strategies, provide the rationale for medium choices, manage flighting and budgeting, and ensure effective internal communication throughout the media planning process.

As a Media Planner, you will gain in-depth knowledge of client industries, understand their business needs, and map out their customer journeys. You will present media plans alongside the Associate Media Director, effectively communicating strategies to clients, internal teams, and external vendors. This role also involves creating detailed media flows in spreadsheets, visual charts, and graphs, collaborating with agency team members, and researching data to align with media plan decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Choose specific media strategies to achieve client goals by thoroughly understanding strategic briefs, and creative messaging, defining media success, and targeting consumers at the right place and the right time. Media recommendations will be developed with the AMD and vetted before internal reviews.
  • Provide research and data that aligns with chosen mediums, forecasting impressions, and reach and frequency numbers for target audiences.
  • Work with the AMD and the Manager, of Digital Media to vet media recommendations and tactics through the media planning process. 
  • Ensure media plans are always accurate, up-to-date, and understood by all agency team members who work on the client. 
  • Create media flow charts, budget breakdowns, and presentation decks of the media plan.
  • Lead and assist client presentations about proposed media plans, alongside the AMD.
  • Act as a media expert and resource for the Account Team as needed in media plan approval and adjustments.
  • Regularly research the effectiveness of mediums, stay up-to-date on relevant certifications, and be open to attending webinars/industry conferences that help elevate media planning and strategy thinking. 
  • Measure media campaign success pre- and post-campaign with internal teams.
  • Perform quality assurance for the media planning discipline.  This will take many forms such as checking dates, budgets, and audiences to ensure they match the media strategy.
  • Monitor overall campaign budget pacing and performance, often this is done by working with members of the digital media team. Work closely with media buyers, Account Directors, and agency finance teams on pacing, performance, and optimizations. 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-5 years of media buying or planning experience on the publisher, client, or agency side with an emphasis on digital media.
  • TV, radio, print, and out-of-home experience.
  • Intermediate skill with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools such as Google Sheets. 
  • Google Suite experience preferred.
  • Experience with Comscore, Nielsen, and Eastlan ratings is recommended. 
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Team player mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in real estate and finance is a bonus. 
  • Passionate about media and marketing.
