The VP, Sales and Account Management develops and implements sales and account management strategies, operational plans, tactics, and processes to maintain and expand our market presence and drive revenue growth. This individual will lead and manage a sales team and cultivate relationships with independent brokers, implementing strategies to grow their knowledge of the Company’s plans and products to optimize sales performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and plans that align with company objectives.
- Sales Channels Management: Oversee all sales channels, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining relationships with independent brokers, agents, and distribution partners. Develop initiatives to enhance broker engagement and productivity.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team. Set clear performance goals, provide ongoing coaching, and ensure team members have the tools and support needed to succeed. Develop and manage effective sales team structure to provide efficiencies and delivery of brand promise to all constituents.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and brokers. Working with the SVP of Business Development, represent the company at industry events and conferences to enhance visibility and reputation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other key members in areas such as marketing, product manager, customer service, and IT to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business objectives. Collaborate with the Product Manager to review competitive positioning and refinement of business rules and processes.
- Innovation: In collaboration with the SVP of Business Development and Government Relations, research and recommend new products to meet changing market needs and new channels and markets for product distribution.
- Administrative/Budget: Develop and manage annual budget and team sales goals. In collaboration with Human Resources, develop sales Commission and Incentive Compensation Plans annually to ensure success.
- Reporting and Analytics: Prepare and present sales forecasts, market share reports, performance reports, and strategic plans to the CEO and executive leadership team. Analyze and produce market share reports, conduct data analysis, and source competitive information at a market level.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, values, code of ethics, and compliance/security standards.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of ten years sales experience with at least five years in sales management role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of the dental benefit marketplace, dental plans, and products.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, communicate effectively through business correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience building and motivating a high-performing sales team.
- Results-oriented, with a strong focus on achieving sales targets and business objectives.
- Must possess or obtain an Idaho producer license in Health & Disability through the state insurance exam within 30 days of employment.
- Competency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel as required.
