Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will be a versatile "Swiss Army knife" with a strong background in network security, infrastructure hardening, and Fortigate firewall configuration. This position requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and hands-on experience in securing critical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Fortigate firewalls to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Implement and manage network security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
- Conduct network and server hardening to minimized vulnerabilities and protect against cyber threats.
- Design and implement secure network architectures, considering best practices and industry standards.
- Monitor network traffic and analyze security logs to detect and respond to potential security incidents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and configurations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, techniques, and technologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and stakeholders.
- Assist in performing security assessments and audits to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, with a focus on network security and infrastructure hardening.
- Strong expertise in configuring and managing Fortigate firewalls.
- Hands-on experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with server hardening techniques and secure configuration management.
- Experience with virtualization platforms, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Working knowledge of cloud security, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell, for automation and security tool integration.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think like an attacker.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Relevant certifications, such as CCNA Security, or Fortinet NSE, are highly desirable.
Must be a US Citizen or GC holder living in the US. Non 3rd party or C2C
